Current Research Funding

The Costantini lab is currently supported by extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) through an R35 MIRA Award (1 R35 GM149345-01) to study “Mechanism of action of uniquely human genes in the injury response”.  This funding followed an initial R01 award (1 R01 GM121530) from NIGMS to study “The Human-Specific Gene CHRFAM7A in Leukocytes”.
 

Prior Surgical Society Research Support

Dr. Costantini’s research was initially funded by junior faculty research awards from the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) Research and Education Foundation Faculty Research Scholarship (2012-2013), The American College of Surgeons C. James Carrico Research Fellowship (2013-15) and the American Surgical Association Foundation Research Fellowship (2015-2017).
